Happy __th Birthday, Tim!

Today is a wonderful man's birthday.

We had a low-key kind of day. We had a birthday lunch with family Sunday after church, then celebrated with some friends on that evening. Tim had AWANA on the day of his birthday and tomorrow evening we'll have a sweet couple over to celebrate some more. It's kind of nice to have a few smaller celebrations, making it easier to actually get to spend some time with friends and stretch out the birthday a little longer.

Tim and Hannah share a birthday. I love this last picture. I wanted so much for her to gently press his head into the cake. Of course, then no one could eat it.

I made a cake for him. I'll try to post some pictures later. It's bedtime for the kids now.

Finally!

Joanna rolled from her back to her tummy today, all on her own. It's about time.

Pretty in Pink?

Joanna looks great in shades of red. However, this pink eye thing is not so much fun. Yep, that's right. My poor baby has pink eye. Poor Joanna. If it's not one thing, it's another. Please pray that it passes quickly and not on to anyone else. Thanks everybody. :)

Poppy Pictures

We took a trip out to our local Poppy Reserve on Friday with our mentor couple/good friends and their kids. It was a beautiful day!

A House of Helpers

Do you ever find yourself in a relationship where the roles should be reversed? I have a young lady that I am trying so hard to befriend. It feels like I'm the teenaged girl chasing after someone who has the life I'm aspiring toward. It's kind of odd. I'm not sure why I'm trying so hard either. I think it's because when I see someone in a rough spot in life, I feel the need to try to step up and take the situation on for them.... Please, let me go through your morning sickness and labor for you. Allow me to fight that battle with your challenging child.... As if I don't have enough in my own life to deal with. I think in this particular instance, I'm trying to rectify the situation. Even though it's not mine to correct and they are doing their best to handle things properly. I guess part of me is still somewhat in denial. I'm always very disappointed to watch a fellow sister in Christ fall. And yet how many times have I fallen, still fall or had close calls? Save for the grace of God, I'd be exactly where this sweet high school senior is now. So why am I so stunned? It does make me think about my past mistakes and pray that much harder for my kids.

Speaking of my kids...I bet you're all wondering how they are these days. Well, I think Joanna will be laying off the green beans for a while. I'm not positive they that are the culprits for her awful diaper rash that lasted for a while and is finally clearing up, but just in case, we'll steer clear of those. She is STILL refusing to roll from her back to her tummy. She is however, enjoying her newly found ability to army crawl and pull up on Mommy to try to stand. I think someone ought to teach her how to read because obviously, she is not aware of the text book way of doing things. I'm sure that is a Ferrill trait. :-) She is learning the meaning of the word, “No.” Her reaction to hearing Mommy say that to her is just heart breaking. I thought Isaiah could work me over. Man, she is gooood. Isaiah is still quite the charmer and daily tests his power over Mommy. His vocabulary is ever increasing, becoming clearer and he is learning how to become a comedian and story teller. He is also searching for more independence. Today the weather is beautiful. So the kids and I went for a walk. Daddy took the car to work and I forgot to request he leave the double stroller. We opted for the Snuggli and Isaiah's trike instead. He really does love his trike, but I think he's realized that Mommy is still the one steering it and he can't reach the pedals, so she is the one setting the pace too. Mommy with this much control? It shall not be endured. With little warning, he hops off the trike declaring, "I want to walk." I felt kind of silly pushing an empty trike, but I figured he was getting better exercise walking anyway. And at least he eventually offered me a ride. :-)

(Almost) Newton's 3rd Law of Motion

Sorry for yesterday's post and if I concerned anyone. I was just having a downer day. Surely everyone in the would has had one before.

Anyway, I'm good here. No worries. =)

I'll post pictures of Joanna's two, yes two, teeth soon. Have a great day everybody. =)
